Dec. 18 - 22

 Joyeux Noël! Merry Christmas!

To recap our last week of school, grade 4's and 5's wrapped up their Ma Famille projects and handed these in. Students had the opportunity to practice their vocabulary by presenting their family members in French in front of the class.

Grade 5's and 6's had an extra day to finish up their flight attendant posters and show their learning from the previous week.

Grade 6's had one more week to review our past verbs Avoir and Être, and practice our new verb Vouloir. They also finished up their activity using vouloir to describe certain jobs they would want to do or not want to do.

Have a wonderful break tout le monde!

Dec. 11 to 15

 Bonjour! Comment CA VA?

This week, as we explore tenperature, students have had to remember the responses to "comment ca va?" Independantly and use this vocabulary in a conversation.

Grade 4's and 5's began creating "Ma Famille A Ma Maison" by labeling their family members using their new vocabulary and introducing each family member in French. This week we will finish up presentations.

Grade 6's began using the verb Vouloir, and talking about what they want and don't want by using their vocabulary about job titles. Next week we will finish up our work on Jobs and professions by having students discuss jobs they want and don't want in French.

Grade 6's also completed their French Comics using the vocabulary that they have learned so far this year.

For French Friday, we had a special guest come to Grade 5 and grade 6! We learned all about real applications of French language skills from  flight attendant, and had the opportunity to begin designing our own flight attendant using French vocabulary to describe what they might say, do, and wear. Merci Mamadame Cambell!

Dec. 4 to 8

Bonjour!

This week, students in grade 4 and 5 continued their work with learning about families. We created popsicle stick families and labeled them, using blue sticks for family vocabulary that uses masculine language, and pink sticks for vocabulary that used feminine language. We have had fun practicing saying "who is this?" In French and responding. This work will help us complete our final family craft next week and be used as a resource.

Grade 6's have been learning about jobs and professions in French. This week we reviewed our surveys that went home and began looking at jobs outside of our family.

Nov. 27 - Dec. 1

 Bonjour Tout la Monde!

This was an exciting week as all grades began a new subject. Grade 4 and 5 have begun to learn about La Famille: family! And had fun practicing this new vocabulary with a card game. We also sent home a survey about our family to be completed at home and had the opportunity to introduce our family to the class at the end of the week. Alongside learning how to introduce our own subjects, we are practicing introducing other people's subjects as well using "mon/ma" for "my" and "ton/ta" for your.

Grade 6 began learning about Les Metiers/ professions: jobs and professions. We discussed how many French jobs have a masculine and a feminine word, and also got to play a game with some of this new vocabulary. Grade 6 brought home a survey to complete with a family member on Jobs/Professions which we will discuss next week.

For French Art Fridays, Grade 5/6 had a great class discussion over the many reasons we may be motivated to learn French. And began creating a collage, as well as learned the verb "apprener" which means "to learn".
